BeeFutures: Environmental Data and Sustainable Beekeeping
ONIBI is an intelligent beehive equipped with advanced AI and IoT technology that monitors, protects, and improves bees’ living conditions in real time. This groundbreaking solution detects early threats, such as the destructive varroa mite, and eliminates it completely without the use of chemicals.
But ONIBI doesn’t stop there. The system collects in-depth environmental data, providing valuable insights into bee health, vegetation, climate change, and pollution. This makes it not only a game changer for beekeepers, but also a powerful tool for researchers and environmental advocates.

NewTracks' role in the project:
-
Injection-molded HDPE plastic components for robustness and durability
-
Assembly of circuit boards, sensors, and motors for precise data collection
-
Complete product assembly, including testing and calibration
-
Firmware upload and final quality control
-
Packaging and direct shipment to the end customer
By using AI and advanced sensors, BeeFutures provides insights into bee movement, pollen collection, and surrounding vegetation — a groundbreaking solution that improves the sustainability of honey production while generating valuable environmental data.
“We want to save the bees to help secure sustainable agriculture. One of our goals is to enable the agricultural sector to use bees as an indicator of whether farming practices actually support insects’ ability to pollinate. Another goal is to have all European cities adopt our beehives, so they can access data on bee health and gather valuable insights,” explains founder and CEO Christophe Brod.
