The Drammen-based company BB Computerteknikk (BBC) is a leader in developing solutions for check-in and baggage handling. Their latest innovation, Backtag®, is a portable baggage tag machine that enables faster check-in while offering travelers the option for personalized assistance..

First in the World with Self-Service Bag Drop
The story began in 2002, when the founders of BBC were standing in line at Gardermoen Airport, asking themselves: "Why does this have to take so long? There must be a better way to do this." This marked the start of developing the first self-service bag-drop unit, likely the first of its kind in the world. Today, BBC has delivered self-service equipment from Thailand in the south to Svalbard in the north.
Collaboration withNewTracks NewTracks has been working with BBC since 2016, contributing to both design and production, including the development of prototypes and the creation of drawings and visual materials.

Innovation of the Year 2023
BBC's latest innovation, Backtag®, is designed to meet the need for fast baggage handling during peak times while also offering travelers the option of personalized assistance. Backtag® is easy to carry, thanks to the backpack from the Norwegian company Douchebags™, and weighs less than 6 kg. The battery-powered machine can operate for over 10 hours without charging, making it perfect for busy days at the airport. Backtag® was named "Innovation of the Year" in 2023 by Swedavia, the organization behind Sweden's airport innovation award.
