The company Fast Travel is behind the taxi ordering machines at Oslo Airport and Oslo S. User-friendly screens and a fixed price model give passengers better control, less waiting time and fewer surprises – from A to B.

Fast Travel has collaborated with NewTracks on both the design and smart technology for the machines. Together, the two companies have created a system that not only improves the customer experience, but also streamlines operations for taxi companies and relieves terminal areas.

Fixed-priced taxi solution

The core of the Fast Travel concept is simple: Upon arrival at Oslo Central Station or Oslo Airport, you can go straight to a machine and order a taxi yourself. Here, you enter your destination, see exactly how much it will cost, select the vehicle type and confirm your order. You will then be picked up by an available car.

– The system is designed to reduce chaos and queues at stops, while ensuring that passengers know what they are paying – before the trip starts. This contributes to higher user satisfaction and better flow, says Henrik Holter at Fast Travel.

Norwegian-developed design and technology

NewTracks has been responsible for the development of both the physical machine and the entire user experience, and has been responsible for everything from screen design and material selection to user interface and ergonomics.
